Response to Intervention (RtI) is a framework for achieving higher levels of academic and behavioral success through high-quality instruction and progress monitoring. This model of instruction focuses on three tiers of differentiated instruction.

The Student Support Team (SST) uses benchmark assessments (assessments are given periodically throughout the year to measure students’ progress), progress monitoring tools (quick, on-demand assessments that establish a baseline and monitor students’ progress), and classroom assessments (including diagnostic and unit assessments) to determine next steps for instruction within the three tiers of instructional support.
